FALL 2010 Knitting Classes Really, all you need to become a good knitter are wool, needles, hands,
and slightly below-average intelligence. Of course, superior intelligence,
such as yours and mine, is an advantage.

Sit & Stitch Social:
Please join us on the first and third Wednesday of every month
for our Sit & Stitch social get-together.
Drop-in anytime between 5-8:00 pm and bring along your current knit or crochet project.
Beginners are welcome: we will be happy to help you with some of the basics of knitting.
There is no cost for this social event; just the chance to learn, share and have some laughs.
We are also open for shopping until 8:00 pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Note: There will be no Sit and Stitch socials scheduled on holidays.
Cables
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Do you know how to do the basics but want a new challenge? It seems
that cables are everywhere for fall this year. This is a two class
introduction to basic cable techniques. We will be knitting a cabled
hat that will be perfect to wear for fall.

Log Cabin Knitting
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
This is just plain fun knitting. We will use a ball of self striping
Noro yarn and construct a basic log cabin square. Make as few or as
many as you would like. Then turn them into a blanket or anything
else you can think of. This is a very versatile technique to have in
your knitting bag of tricks. Also in class – a demo on how to join
your squares together and tips and tricks on technique.

Pick your Project
Level: Any level
Back by popular demand, the pick your own project class. This may be
a project that you need help with or a brand new project for the
class. Choose a large project or several smaller ones and join our
group. You will learn tips, tricks and techniques for your project
as well as learn from the projects of others in the class. This is a
small class that will fill up quickly! Please read the additional
notes on this class at the end of the schedule. Specific requirements for this class will be given at time of registration Four Classes Limit 4

Blocking
Level: Any level
Everything you ever wanted to know about blocking. We will cover the
blocking of garments, small accessories, and lace. Join the class
and learn the techniques that really give a professional finish to
your knitting projects.

Simple Socks
Level: Intermediate
These are plain socks using the popular toe up construction and knit
on two circular needles. You will be learning an easy method to
calculate your own measurements and produce a hand knit sock.
Once you understand the basics you can customize your socks to fit any
foot and add color, texture and personality galore!

Private Tutoring Sessions Any Skill Level
Private knitting lessons may be arranged through the shop if you prefer one to one instruction. Let us know what you would like to learn and we can arrange it for you. Lessons must be booked in advance and payment is due at time of booking. Minimum one-hour session. CLASS POLICIES
Classes fill quickly! Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Pre-registration is required for all classes.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis, no exceptions!
Payment for classes must be received at time of registration in order
to secure a seat in the class. Payment for classes must be paid in full at time of registration.
We do not accept deposits or partial payments for classes.
Method of payment for all classes is either cash or a cheque made out to the Instructor.
Please note that we do not accept debit or credit card payments for class fees,
only for class supplies.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS: You will be issued a full refund if your class is cancelled due
to insufficient registration.
If you need to cancel a class you must advise the shop a minimum of 14 days prior
to the first day of the class in order to receive a full refund.
If we are given less than 14 days notice, we will only issue a refund if we are able to
fill your spot in the class.
NO REFUNDS are issued for no-shows or last-minute cancellations.
Unfortunately, no make-up classes are available.
PLEASE obtain a supply list prior to each class and read it completely to see what
supplies are needed.
A 10% discount will be applied for all class supplies purchased at 88 Stitches.
Classes start on time. Please be considerate of other students and have all your
class supplies purchased prior to the day of the class. If you have purchased skeins of yarn,
then please wind them into balls prior to the start of class. Thank you!
